We seek a dynamic Associate Director of Business Development. You will grow new business opportunities with government agencies in your selected geographic territory.

Our team of engineers, product experts, and data scientists develop tools and new approaches to improve customer experience with government services .

The issues that we tackle - ensure fair elections, access to healthcare, mental health,, and other human services - are challenging, the work is fast-paced, and the opportunities for learning and impact are unlimited.‍

Key Responsibilities:

You’ll work in a collaborative team environment to conduct sales research, lead capture, respond to RFPs and RFIs. You would lead the entire sales cycle for your given territories from initial opportunity creation to finalizing opportunity outcome. This includes conducting sales research, prospecting campaigns, conducting first contact, assessing the needs of the government agency, presenting solutions, addressing concerns and ultimately closing the sale.

On a given day in this role, you might:

  • Research target government agencies such as DHS, HHS, and DPH, diving deep in understanding their strategic plan, organization, and develop a lead capture strategies
  • Plan and execute on outbound sales strategies
  • Lead sales meetings with senior government officials
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings with product, engineering, and marketing teams to resolve customer issues, share feedback, share best practices and deliver the best possible solution for customers
  • Help respond to RFPs, write proposals, contracts, and other collateral

Required Qualifications:

The Associate Director must be adaptive and entrepreneurial, with a problem-solving and positive approach to his/her work. Given the small size of our staff, the ability to plan, multitask, and move at a quick pace in multiple directions is critical. We have limited resources, so creativity, resilience, willingness to work hard, and ability to do more with less are key.

  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of business development experience OR Graduate degree with 5+ years of business development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in SaaS software sales or Technology Client Services sales to senior government executives.
  • Has 3+ years track-record of developing relationships with senior government executives
  • Is highly motivated to sell to new accounts and enjoys sales research, strategy and closing sales
  • Can command a room of senior government executives, lead and facilitate conversations, and write compellingly
  • Can demonstrate they can build subject matter expertise in subject areas such as Elections, Health and other government programs
  • Has a reputation for acting strategically, thinking tactically, following through and getting things done.
  • Performs well in an environment with competing priorities, multiple projects, and a virtual team. Can anticipate needs and address potential issues before they become a problem.
